haletothequeen asked: hi seana :) i think i read that you said you have naturally crazy curly hair? are there any products you swear by when you wear yours curly? also, what kind of straightener do you use? your hair always looks so perfect, i'm totally jealous! thanks so much!
My hair is odd, because its very curly, but its also pretty fine. Its easy to hide how curly it is! When I wear it curly, I use Mixed Chicks products. Its the only shampoo/conditioner I swear by. Every other line Ive tried makes my hair dry and frizzy. To style it naturally, I put in some leave in conditioner and Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray to give it texture!
When I wear it in a straighter style, I actually just curl it with a flat iron. There are a ton of tutorials on how to do that, but its the only way I get a relaxed and pretty curl with my hair.
thewolflichen asked: My apologies if this has been asked already - this weather has been wreaking havoc on my lips! Any good recs for lip balms? I've tried a few drugstore brands, but haven't found a keeper yet.
I have tried everything.. I mean every chapstick and balm out there, and the best I have found is Dermalogica’s. I have all my clients and family addicted to it. It comes in a pack on 9, so it would last you forever, and its the only thing that heals my lips. If your lips arent too sensitive, you could also get a lip exfoliant (Fresh makes one!).
sarahendipityy asked: Hi Seana! :) I saw that you mentioned earlier that you have dry skin. What are some products that you use, in particularly to preventing dry patches on your face? It seems like no matter what I do, they never seem to disappear.
I exfoliate (First Aid Beauty has a great one) and use a really rich moisturizer (Embryolisse makes an amazing one). If the patches are persistent, you should see a dermatologist about eczema. I have gotten it before on my eyelid, but I also get it pretty frequently on my legs. Its a relatively easy fix.. They would just prescribe you some cremes to put on every day until its gone! Hope that helps!
I have been super busy and this blog has been boring and uneventful, BUT I have answered some questions and feel free to keep them coming!
crosses-and-urban077 asked: How did your parents respond to your decision to be a makeup artist?
Well, at first they werent super happy! They wanted me to go to college and do that whole thing. After a while of me convincing them and them seeing me work hard they are very happy for me. They wanted the best for me and its scary to go out and try and make a career as a 17 year old, but I did it!
sweatsaltsea asked: Hi Seana! You do great work :) I was wondering if you had recommendations for both a good drugstore lip stain and drugstore night cream? Thanks!
Revlon Colorburst Lip Stain is a good one. Its a good quality stain for decently cheap! I have crazy sensitive skin, so I dont venture out of my normal skin care often, but Jason has a good cream that I used to use. If you want to splurge a little (its worth it!) First Aid Beauty has a bunch of face creams. I use the Ultra Hydrating one, and it works great for my dry skin!
wakeupandcarpediem asked: Hi, Seana! I know that in the past you've done Holland Roden's makeup, and know she's a fan of Nars 'Heat Wave' lipstick. Do you know of any less expensive alternatives for that lipstick? I love the color but am on a budget. Thanks! :)
I dont know what the color is, but Wet and Wild has really really great matte lipsticks.
teenscallison asked: Hey Seana! I wanted to know if you could recommend either a concealer or an army of makeup supplies that would cover up a tattoo? My tattoos are strictly black ink so there isn't any color to cover does that make a difference at all when I have to choose a product?
Dermablend is great, but takes some time to get the hang of. There are also make palettes that are alcohol activated and look like watercolor paint that are AMAZING. The color wont move for hours and sometimes days. They are called Illustrator Palettes.
fcukinastonishing asked: Also , why is it that every time i take pictures with flash in low lighting at like parties & etc. there's a white cast on my face , is it because of the foundation ? Any recommendations on foundations or tips that help with that ?
Either there is SPF in the makeup or there are some powders that have a filler in it that gives it that appearance. Ive found that when I wear my BB cream with SPF 35 it happens to me, but if I wear a tinted moisturizer with SPF 20 it doesnt.. Higher quality products definitely help with that though!
Congrats to Teen Wolf!
Grooming for Tyler Posey by me.
I have to share this photo of my horribly grown out gels for a purpose: Essie gel is incredible. This is 17 days after getting them done and there isn’t a chip or any sign of peeling. Usually I’m lucky if they last 14 days because I’m constantly using my hands/washing them. I’m also happy that Essie has a sheer color like this in gel. Most gels are good, but their color is so thick and even less opaque ones aren’t sheer at all. Thank you Essie! I will be using you every time!
mysomethingsostrong asked: hi seana, How do you get your eyelashes to curl? I can't curl mine to save my life. I curl my eyelashes and then put mascara in it and once i put mascara on them they just fall down. I've tried heating my eyelash curler and it still doesn't work. Help :(
You might need a new curler! The springs that help it clamp down and curl get old quickly so try a different brand. Shu Uemura is my favorite but you have to order it online.
